Witness Account

On the night of 14 August 2026, at approximately 11:15–11:30 p.m., myself, my husband were looking out over the bay. We were in a very dark area of the car park overlooking the cliff and sea, with the toilet block nearby. There were no streetlights in the immediate or light pollution, and the surrounding area was extremely dark. My husband suddenly shouted, “What the heck is that?” and pointed out of his right-hand window. Approximately 70 metres away from us, above the toilet block, we could see numerous lights appearing within or around the cloud. My husband described the lights as looking as though they were “scanning”, whereas I would describe what I saw as more of a pulsing effect. As the lights pulsed or appeared to scan, the surrounding cloud became illuminated. During these moments of illumination, we could see what appeared to be a huge mass or craft within the illuminated area. I cannot accurately describe its shape or size because it was difficult to make out against the darkness and cloud.
