I was volunteering at the local community garden, it was late afternoon, the sun casting long shadows. I was busy pruning the tomato plants when I noticed something strange in the corner of my eye. Hovering just above the rows of lettuce, was a metallic disk, shimmering like a mirage. It didn't make a sound, just hung there, as if observing the vibrant green patchwork below. I reached for my phone to capture the moment, but as I fumbled, the object rotated ever so slightly and shot upwards at an impossible speed, vanishing into the clear blue sky.
