Silver orb slowly moved away from sighting location Weather essentially clear, with bright sun. Estimate altitude of object to have been between 15,000 and 20,000 feet, based on proximity to commercial airliners at altitude in the same general sector of the sky. Object moved smoothly, as if it might have been a metallic balloon — the object did not create contrails — moved in a "straight line" while in view. I am a retired USAF Colonel with extensive fighter/combat experience and later managed highly-classified R&D projects at Air Force Systems Command.
