I was up on my roof trying to fix the old weather vane that always spins the wrong way. It was late afternoon, and the sun was casting long shadows across the neighborhood. As I was adjusting the vane, I noticed this peculiar glint out of the corner of my eye. Looking up, I saw this strange, glistening object hovering above the tree line, barely moving, almost as if it was observing me back. The shape was like a distorted top hat, all metallic and shimmering, with a bizarre, bluish hue around its edges. I tried to get a better look with my binoculars, but by the time I focused, it had zipped away faster than anything I've ever seen. The speed was mind-boggling, almost as if it defied physics.
