I was hanging out on the rooftop of my apartment complex, just trying to get away from the noise inside. The night was clear and calm, and the stars were putting on a pretty good show. That's when I saw this weird metallic disc hovering silently above the nearby cactus garden. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen, with a surface that seemed to shimmer like liquid metal. I watched, transfixed, as it slowly descended, making not a single sound. Then, just as quickly as it appeared, it shot upwards in a blur, disappearing into the night sky. It was like something out of a science fiction movie, but it was right there in front of me.
