Very large bright light rapidly changing speeds and direction

Witness Account

A very large white light much larger than a star or planet at night, but midday on a perfectly clear sky, hovering, then rapidly accelerating, changed directions on a dime, remaining mostly constant but at times turning off and then turning back on again a few seconds later. Was very close to me at about approximately a half a mile distance, and appearing to be at a very high altitude, perhaps about a mile high. I was able to watch it for about five minutes until it was perhaps about 5 to 10 miles away and I lost sight of it
