So there I was, just minding my own business, trying to get some fresh air on the balcony of my friend's high-rise apartment. It was one of those evenings when the city lights flickered against the horizon, and everything seemed perfectly mundane. Suddenly, this weird, shimmering disk appeared out of nowhere. It didn't make a sound, just hovered there like it was trying to decide if it wanted to crash our party or not. I swear it was made of some material that seemed to ripple like water. I rubbed my eyes, thinking maybe I had a few too many of those new craft beers. But nope, it was still there, pulsating with an eerie, soft glow. And then, just as silently as it came, it shot off at an angle so sharp, it left a streak of light that slowly faded into the night.
