Witness Account

Driving along Highway 17 just outside of Rhinelander my son and I witnessed a large cigar shaped object hovering just over the tree tops about 300 yards from the highway. It looked about the size of a 727 airplane with no wings or tail. The object was slightly blurry towards one end but appeared white or silverfish with hazy streaks of blue and red running along the side as if viewing the colors though a mirage. It had a light intermittently blinking, but could have been sunlight glinting off of it. It had what looked like windows along the side. The object was completely stationary in full view of morning traffic. My son noticed the object first and said, "Dad there is an airplane hovering over there." I looked but did not notice the object at first, roughly ten seconds past as we drove along the highway and my son said, "It's still there." I looked to my left and I saw the object described above as we passed it in our vehicle. I watched the object and the road as we drove past until the trees obscured my view of the object.
