Witness Account

So there I was, just chilling in my backyard, trying to see if I could get my old drone to work again. It was late afternoon, the sky was that kind of hazy blue that makes you think it's gonna rain later. Suddenly, out of nowhere, this weird metallic disc just floated right above my garden. I swear it looked like it was made out of liquid mercury, all shiny and shifting, like it was alive or something. I just stood there, completely dumbfounded, as it hovered silently above the old oak tree. The thing didn't make a sound, not even a whisper of wind. Then, as if noticing my stare, it started to spin slowly, reflecting all sorts of crazy colors. It felt like time had stopped, and I was in some kind of sci-fi movie. It hung around for what felt like forever but was probably only a couple of minutes. Then it shot off straight up into the sky, disappearing in a flash that left my head spinning. I had to sit down for a while to process what I'd just seen.
