Witness Account

My girlfriend pointed out an odd color in the sky. As I observed the area, I saw a light, purple or indigo color, that was fading in and out through the clouds. We decided to walk towards the shape, in a North East direction to get a better view and as I kept watching, it appeared to be a large oval shape the size of my hand at arms distance.
