I was in my garden, planting some late-season herbs, when I heard this strange humming sound. It was like a swarm of bees, but more rhythmic and mechanical. I looked up and saw this shiny metallic disc hovering just above the trees. It wasn't spinning or anything, just floating there, kind of shimmering in the sunlight. It had a bunch of lights around the rim that changed colors in a sequence like it was trying to communicate something. Then, all of a sudden, it shot straight up into the sky, faster than anything I've ever seen, and disappeared. The whole thing couldn't have lasted more than a couple of minutes, but it felt like an eternity.
