Witness Account

My son called me to the porch at night. He and his sister were looking at the moon with a 40x telescope. He said, “dad come look at this white orb.” I came out and looked up. The sky was lit up well by the moon and there was a slight slight fog. I saw the white orb/ball moving in a straight line, same speed, not very fast. It was around 45 miles away, estimated, off to my east. I looked through the 40x telescope and it appeared to be a round white object just moving straight and steady. It was not an aircraft. It had no tailings, no condensate trail, made no sound, had no flashing lights, just a white ball moving. We stood there and watched it for around 3 minutes. Suddenly, out of nowhere, it turned south at around 45 degrees from my point of view, traveled about 3” to the south (about a 4.5 mile line when adjusting for distance), in about half a second. The white light simply vanished after that. I tried to calculate the speed, and estimated around 20-30,000 mph when all things are considered. The pre turn speed would have been in 100’s of mph. I was speechless. About 15 minutes later a military plane flew overhead at low altitude, heading from the direction the white orb was at.
